Kelly Postula
Kelly began her dance journey in 2011 studying technique and performance with belly dance schools in Arlington, Virginia and Washington, DC. Kelly is also an accomplished Arabic drummer, and has performed with Egyptian dancer and drummer Karim Nagi.
In 2023, she earned her official Dance Cohesion Stage 1 Trained Teacher certification with April Rose's Cohesion Collective - see link to teacher directory: https://aprilrose.dance/trainedteachers
April describes Kelly's teaching approach as "warm, encouraging, detailed, caring and fun! She breaks things down in a very detailed, complete, and logical sequential way."
Kelly also earned her Journey Through Egypt Levels 1 & 2 Certification in 2024 with Egyptian Ethnologist Sahra Saeeda. She has studied various styles of belly dance including Raqs Sharqi, Folkloric, and Egyptian Baladi.
She particularly enjoys creating fusion choreographies that experiment with Modern Contemporary style. Kelly was drawn to dance at a young age as it allows her freedom of expression in ways that her day-to-day life doesn't frequently offer, and she enjoys facilitating this freedom with her students.
