From the Founder:
Bodies tell, and hold, stories. Dance allows us to share and explore these stories, whether through movement or the conversations that emerge from it. I never imagined a career in dance. Yet, over the last several decades, my connection to it has evolved in ways I couldn’t have anticipated. The path that unfolded—unexpected as it was—now feels deeply profound.
Dance, for me, is where everything intersects. I've always been fascinated by the body and mind, the art and science behind them, their potential for healing and regeneration, and the vast unknowns. Dance continues to spark questions, curiosity, and conversations that seem endless, keeping me inspired and profoundly awake and alive. It has connected all my curiosities—whether as an artist, educator, or scholar. Dance has become my anchor, and a way to explore both my humanity and the broader world.
At Local Motion Project, our work bridges generations and opens new pathways for trained dancers as well as for those stepping into movement for the first time. Our commitment is to put students first, recognizing the diverse stories their bodies hold, and empowering them to shape their own narratives.
I continue to learn from, and be inspired by, your discoveries.
Thank you for being a part of this journey with us.
