Description: Explore the water cycle – evaporation, convection, condensation, and precipitation – through improvisation and choreography.
Extension Ideas
- Precipitation can occur in many forms. Guide the students to explore the different movement qualities of light rain, heavy rain, hail, and snow. Guiding questions: Does this form of precipitation move with heavy or light energy? Does if fall fast or slowly? Can you show this with just your hand/head/arm/etc? What pathway does it travel in?
- Virtual Learning – Ask students to create a water cycle dance using just their hand. Record a video of the dance, or show during online class, making sure only the hand is in the camera frame.
