Description: Improvisation and dance-making related to the life cycle of cicadas: emerge, shed, fly, burrow, decompose.

Extension Ideas

  1. Follow the leader – Choose different students to lead the class through each word.
  2. Divide the class into 5 groups. Give each group a “secret word” (emerge, shed, fly, burrow, decompose). Have each group improvise movement for their word. Ask the audience to guess the word and justify their answer.
